I am raising funds to support CollegeSpring, an amazing non-profit that equips low-income students with the academic skills and mentoring they need to close the SAT, ACT, and college opportunity gaps. I am honored to have joined CollegeSpring's Bay Area board earlier this year and am incredibly passionate about helping this org have greater impact on our local communities. The funds raised over these next several weeks will help fund the training, coaching and employment of undergraduate mentors -- a critical, unique component that makes CollegeSpring's programs so successful.

Overview of CollegeSpring
Since 2008, CollegeSpring have served more than 15,000 students in the San Francisco Bay Area, Southern California, and New York, helping them achieve increased test scores, acceptances into better-matched, more-selective colleges, higher persistence rates, and greater opportunities for future success.

Powered by experienced teachers and passionate undergraduate mentors, CollegeSpring serves large, inclusive groups of high school students. After completing the program, students close over two thirds of their SAT achievement gap, are nearly 50% more likely than their peers to enter college, and almost 90% of them persist in college once they arrive.

The Project
CollegeSpring Bay Area is GROWING. The organization has doubled the number of students they serve annually to over 1,000 in 2016-2017 and plans to double again in the next year to serve over 2,000 students. Serving more students means recruiting, hiring, training, coaching and paying more undergraduate mentors to work closely with CollegeSpring high school students. CollegeSpring invests heavily in recruiting outstanding mentors from similar low-income backgrounds as their mentees, so they can develop strong, authentic relationships and positively impact students' visions of themselves as college material. Mentoring with CollegeSpring is an important paid, part-time job for low-income college students who want to make a difference in the lives of high schoolers from similar backgrounds. Your gift will help fund the training, coaching and employment of undergraduate mentors.
