Colleen Lemma Fire Recovery Fund

Colleen's story: Around 1:00 am on Saturday May 13, 2017, our dear friend Colleen was awakened by her sweet cat Gemini, and heard the smoke alarm going off in the apartment below. When Colleen checked the building hallway, it was filled with thick smoke. She called 911 and escaped to the parking lot with only her cat. The first responders were able to get everyone out and Red Cross evacuated all the tenants to nearby hotels.
Extensive damage:
Thankfully no one was hurt but they have been told they will not be able to live in their apartments for the foreseeable future. There is extensive smoke damage in Colleen’s apartment. Everything she owns is covered in black soot, was not covered by insurance, and most of it will likely be a total loss.

Double loss, home & work: 
She works from home as a private consultant, so this affects not only her living space and home office, but her income. Kind friends have offered her a place to stay, but she will need help from friends and family to rebuild her life.
