Today we are reaching out to you, as one of our very own needs our help. We’ve never shy’d away from climbing steep hills and we’ve come to realize that climbing is so much easier when we do it together. Cole Bevan needs our support. He needs us to help him win one of the most important challenges of his life.
On October 31st, of this year, Cole received the devastating news that he has large B cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. It can be a very aggressive form of cancer. Cole started chemotherapy on November 24th.
To those of us who know him, Cole is a vibrant young man, a great friend to all and an accomplished athlete. He grew up in Cloverdale. He attended Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary School. Cole played hockey for Cloverdale Minor, was drafted to the Swift Current Broncos WHL hockey team and in 2011 was named Captain of the West Valley Hawks Major Midget team. Until his diagnosis in October, he was an active team member with the New Westminster Salmon Bellies Jr A Lacrosse Team.

The Bevan family is humbled by our desire to help and at this point are unsure of what their medical plans will cover. They are also unsure of what additional expenses may be incurred, but are grateful for the campaign we want to create, through GOFUNDME, to financially support Cole.
Our intention, with your help, is to raise $20,000 or more for Cole’s benefit and to do this as quickly as possible. That is the sole purpose of this campaign.
As most of us are parents with kids, many around Cole’s age, we cannot begin to imagine the impact that this journey will have on Cole, his family and the day-to-day routines we take for granted.
Our thought is that this campaign will help to alleviate some of the stress for the Bevan’s. We are not going to limit this fundraising effort just to reducing Cole’s treatment or medication expenses. Our idea is to create a fund that will support any need that is in direct alignment with returning Cole to good health or helps in any way to energize him.
Many of us have been here before with friends, family and acquaintances. This challenge lands families with spending tens of thousands of dollars on additional treatments and unexpected expenses. Our intention is to substantially reduce this burden for the Bevan’s so they can focus on Cole’s healing.
Cole and his family are overwhelmed with the community’s desire to rally around them and will be forever grateful to each and every one of you. Please consider yourself part of Cole’s extended family and join us in pulling together to help him fight one of his biggest battles.

We’ve created what GOFUNDME refers to as Reward Levels, but are putting a different spin on them. Instead of you receiving a direct reward for supporting Cole, outside of the feeling of knowing you are helping him return to his usual vibrance, Cole gets the reward of whatever level you feel most called to support him with, at the level that best suits you.
Please choose whichever Reward Level resonates for you and if you are inclined to donate a dollar amount that is not part of the Reward Levels please go right ahead.
Every amount is vital for us to land on raising the campaign goal of $20,000 or more.
