Hello family and friends,
My name is Caitlin Joyner and my 19 year old brother Keegan was invovled in a tragic accident on October 6, 2017. He suffered burns to 81% of his body, both second and third degree. Keegan is in critical condition and is looking at a long in residence recovery process.
My Dad is temporarily relocating to Lubbock, Tx, 5 hours from his home and work (where he's taking unpaid leave), to tend to Keegan's recovery. I'm also 5 hours away and will be helping my Dad Sunday-Tuesdays, balancing traveling to help Keegan recover and my full time job in Albuquerque. My mom, aunt, and grandmother all live in Georgia and will be taveling from there to Texas atleast twice a month to help with my brother and his recovery.
My brother needs to have his family with him for his physical, emotional, and spiritual recovery. Our family is very close and we all need to be together as much as possible during this difficult period.
We are asking for help from friends and family to help with travel expenses, food, living expenses, uncovered medical expenses, and just every day items he and his caretakers may need. His hospitaliazation alone is expected to be no less than 80 days and then he will have almost a year of follow-up outpt visits. He needs his family to be with him to be able to provide physical and emotional support during this time.
As anyone who knows Keegan, personally or peripherally, you know him to be full of life, fun-loving, and to have one of the biggest hearts on the planet. These donations will allow his family to be with him and be able to stay with him long-term throughout his recovery. Any amount is a blessing and if you can only pray for all of us we need prayers too.
