Coalition Of Adoptive Families Fund

Donation protected

Adoption is hope. It is hope for the child, and it is hope for the family. It is giving a child another chance at life, another chance at a family. However, there is another kind of hope that comes with adoption that we rarely talk about. It is the hope that describes the ongoing process we find ourselves in as families, long after placement.

Adoptees need hope for love and understanding as they trudge through the challenges that come with the hidden trauma of relinquishment. Adoptees and their families hope for knowledgeable professionals and services that can provide answers to the questions they are too hesitant to ask in fear of judgment from others who do not share their same experiences.

We are the Coalition of Adoptive Families (COFAF), we know adoptive families are unique and need specialized services and information. We want to strengthen adoptive family ties through education, resources, and support.

Can you help us relieve the many families and children who are affected by the "hidden-in-plain-sight" traumas of adoption?

Your donation will allow us to develop educational programs to provide families with information to avoid false diagnoses, offering hope for the child and family.

Help us generate more mountain peak moments by donating to fund educational webinar series, Discover and Discussion Groups, an information and referral WarmLine, and youth mentoring.

COFAF provides help after placement for families who need their questions answered, such as:

Why is my daughter so irritable and angry?  Why does my son seem so depressed and anxious?  Is this “normal behavior” or even related to adoption?

What happens when a child's immediate gut reaction is to respond in fear? What does it actually look like when a child is in a constant mindset of survival mode?

Please donate to COFAF because every child deserves at least the same amount of resources and effort it took to place them, to understand and support them and their families after placement.

We are a volunteer organization and 100% of your donation will go towards funding adoption-informed services such as educational webinars, discussion and support groups, an adoptee helpline, and youth mentoring.

Your support is immensely appreciated, as we get adoptive families the help and support they so desperately need.
