Cody’s Toughest Fight

Helping Cody through his toughest fight...

Aloha and mahalo for taking the time to read about Cody's fight.  Our hope is to help raise funds to assist his family with medical bills (hospital, PT, OT, etc.), loss of wages (for himself and family members having to provide 24/7 care) and other related expenses.  His hospital tab alone has sky rocketed and costs for PT/OT at home will keep adding more to that total.

HIS FIGHT:
On the evening of July 27th, Cody was out with some friends.  Later, a verbal altercation with a guy lead Cody and his younger brother being threatened by that guy’s friend.  As Cody and his brother attempted to leave, Cody was blindsided and struck in the head with a bat. His brother turned to see Cody on the ground and 3 guys trying to hold and beat him with a bat. His brother tried to stop the assault, but they continued to hold him down and beat him. His brother managed to get Cody into the car and immediately drove to the nearest hospital.  An investigation is ongoing.
Cody sustained 2 skull fractures, a ruptured ear drum and bleeding in his brain.  He was in ICU for a few days fighting for his life.  Against all odds and to the surprise of the doctors, Cody was out of ICU sooner than expected.  He struggled but was able to get out of bed with assistance which was a requirement to be able to be released to continue PT/OT at home.  If Cody had not been so physically fit or any older, his odds would not have been in his favor and he most likely could have lost his life.
Cody's fight is far from over and faces his toughest match yet.  He is learning how to walk again, currently using a walker and under 24/7 supervision.  He also suffers from paralysis on the entire left part of his face.  Recovery time is unknown as of yet, but Cody is strong and a fighter so we are very hopeful he will regain all muscle activity throughout his body so he can get back to work and back in the gym/ring.  Although it will be a very long and bumpy road to recovery, Cody tackles each day with high hopes and a positive attitude.

ABOUT CODY:
Cody is 24 and the middle son.  He resides with his mother, father and younger brother.  Cody, although only 24, has such a pure heart and is very passionate/protective of his family and friends.  He goes above and beyond to take care of others around him.  He is humble to the core, puts other's needs first, is polite, kind and caring towards everyone he interacts with.  Cody is dedicated and puts his heart into training and work.  With his paychecks, he was helping his family financially with rent and expenses for the house.

Please help join me in raising funds to help Cody and his family on this road to recovery.  Let's give them one less thing to worry about so they can focus all of their energy and strength on healing and Cody getting back on his feet.  Please continue to pray for Cody and his family during this challenging time.

***We will post updates on his recovery progress
