Activist Family Starting Over

2017 is off to a pretty good start. We are in a home. We have everything out of storage. We are doing well with the unpacking. Best of all, we have full time employment!

We would like to end this go fund me page, but now is not the time to take such risks. Almost half a year of homelessness left us in a pretty deep financial hole. We have to keep on top of things in order to succeed. So we will leave this fundraising page up until we make our goal.

We appreciate all of the support we have gotten. We are well aware that we couldn't have gotten this far without the help of each & every one of you. We beat the odds & now we want to be stable enough to pay it forward.

We are still unpacking. We still have to empty out the storage unit before the 31st (1/4 full). We are still behind on some bills.

Getting the house liveable & unpacking, while working & looking for more work, had been a huge set of tasks. While we are grateful & happy to finally have a home, we are very concerned about falling further behind.

Please help if you are able. No amount is too small!

After almost 4 months of being homeless we finally have found a home! We cannot thank you all enough for we could not have come thru this year without you!

This year I beat cancer & now homelessness. Miracles are real & each of you who have supported us - with prayers & kind words, with friendship, & with your hard-earned dollars - have been the angels bringing them to our lives.

We have a signed lease & are ready to leave the room that has been our exile since summer. It hardly seems real.

We still need a little help. We must get our things out of storage. Not just because we would like our clothes & beds. The tools of our trade are in there & we need them to get back in business, back to earning a decent living! We also don't want to be charged another month of storage.

We also had to sink every penny into getting this place (deposits not just for lease, but also utilities, which were much higher than we thought!) so that meant using funds for insurance payments & our few bills. These bills need to be paid asap. We have to make certain to keep our son's medical needs met & we must have transportation for work. Not to mention groceries...

We need to raise about $3k as soon as possible! To pay for truck rental to get our things & to make certain we don't fall further behind. We need to do this to ensure the success of our new lives. We have already been lining up more work so we know the earning potential is tremendous, but we have to get things paid.

We are right here, at the brink of success. Please help us get all the way up this hill.

**Please be aware that half the amount currently raised went to back bills, including medical co-pays, prior to our being forced to move out of our home. The rest has had to be used to keep up with insurance payments, pay for applications on possible rentals, & other living expenses our pay couldn't cover.**

My family & I have been homeless since July of this year. We lost the only house my children ever knew as home in a court battle with an abusive ex. The legal battle, along with medical issues, left us financially devastated & unable to get proper housing.

We have 3 children in school & 3 tiny dogs whom we adopted some years ago. Since that time we have been staying in a room with no kitchen & no way to have a sense of stability.

We have no doubt we can get thru all of this & return to our normal lives, but it's difficult with no stability. Finding work is difficult when you have no fixed address, & little access to the tools if your trade & your decent clothes. (We have belongings scattered around town,stored for us. We also have a storage unit for very important paperwork, etc)

Until my health interfered (last year), I worked for a largd Central Florida corp for 15 years. On top of that we  ran an event planning & catering company. We are also activists who have who have fought for civil rights for most of our adult lives. We don't believe in spare time.
