My name is COCO. This fund has been started to help with my emergency vet bills and ongoing recovery, because so many kind people have asked to get involved with my recovery.
On Sunday May 20th, the unimaginable occurred: I was accidentally dragged a long distance behind a car in Owen Sound until I was spotted by a driver on HWY 26 tethered, seriously injured, and helpless.
It wasn't the driver's fault - he is a kind man, and wasn't informed my leash was tied to his car (the person responsible for this is unknown). I was rushed to Blue Mountain Vet Services, where everyone worked until 1am to keep me alive.
As you can imagine, my injuries were extensive. My paws, belly and back left leg were seriously damaged, but I am lucky that I don't have any internal injuries!!
My Mom had just landed in Shanghai when she learned about my accident, and she got on the next flight to come home so she could be with me. Seeing her, was a powerful moment for both of us, because normally I am never more than 10' away from her!!!
The first 3 days were the hardest - it was touch and go - but everyday I'm getting better. I felt loved and cared for by everyone at Blue Mountain Vet, and knowing how much they love me gave me with will to keep fighting.
I've had four surgeries so far. I've learned to walk again, even though the odds were against me to do so. Here is a video of me proving ya all wrong:
Right now I’m back in Toronto, with McGilvery Vets, and I still have a long way to go…..I get really excited when my Mom comes to visit me. It makes me happy that everyone is amazed by my strength, and how quickly I am recovering.

Wednesday I have another surgery to make my biggest injury on my left leg heal faster. My Mom continues with my care because I keep showing a willingness to get better, and despite my injuries my spirits are high.
Please send me good thoughts for my surgery on Wedensday.....I am really trying hard and have a big spirit through all of this, and I know I am going to get better over time.
