Cochlear Implant Surgery for Child

The war in Syria has left hundreds of thousands of dead civilians and wounded hundred of thousands of children.
Many were injured so severely that it left them with permanent disabilities.
Shahed Obed is 5 years old and has a devastating story. She was born during the war and experienced how her family had to constantly move from their home to a safer place. She not only suffered psychological scars- the sound of rockets and bombs scared her for life- but also left her with a damaged cochlear that resulted in severe hearing loss. Thus, she never properly learnt to talk and due to her frustration and being overwhelmed, she screams instead.
Because of the severe danger in the Homs region and the limited money the family has, Shahed was never able to get any treatment. The only solution was to go to Leabanon which was and is simply never in the budget.
Finally, a hospital in Damascus agreed to do the surgery and found someone who can provide the cochlear implant. Their organization will help cover 50% of the cost, but the remaining wooping 5 Million Syrian pound (about $9,710), are way out of reach for this family who lives in the suburbs of Homs and just started to build their life again. The costs include the device, the surgery and the hospital stay plus aftercare.
I found an organization (Rahma Relief) who pledged to pay $2,500 and we still need all your help to make this surgery happen!
The hospital's name is Al Rasheed, with the surgeon Dr. Awad and the name of the provider of the hearing device company is Anwar Al Hallak. I'm including a hearing evaluation and the physician's recommendation for an implant.
I am open to any questions and will provide infos about the outcome of the surgery and hopefully some videos that show this girl hearing her mum!
The money will brought to the family via "SAMS" - the Syrian American Medical Society. They have saved thousands of lifes and were recently featured in "60 Mintutes" . I have worked with SAMS numerous times and helped fundraisers that collected money to build hosipitals in Syria.
