Year of the swim

In the year of 2019 I've decided to take on the challenge of swimming in 19 open water swimming events in the hope of raising funds for charity.  Mat not seem like much over the course of 12 months but it's close to competing in almost every N.S.W open water event. With distances varying 1km to 5km per event, i'm hoping  to reach over 40 kilometers for the year. Just FYI, not the greatest of swimmers. For perspective, my first training session i only managed to swim 400 meters. So, this 40km's is kind of a big deal.

The charity I will be will be swimming for is the children's cancer institute. Every week three Australian children will die of cancer, the children's cancer institute believes this is three too many. Their vision is to save the lives of all children with cancer and improve their long-term health, through research. Their organisation exists solely to put an end to childhood cancer. Please donate to worthy cause, even if it's 1 dollar per swim.
