Coalition against LA Fitness Project
We are neighbors who have come together to postpone the development of a 37,000 square foot building
(LA Fitness) in the Shops at Rossmoor behind Sprouts. This giant building will have vast impacts on thousands
of residents, including emergency services, traffic, environmental, noise, and most importantly SAFETY issues for thousands of residents, including children and the elderly who use these roads. We are asking for donations from our neighbors in Seal Beach, Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, and beyond to fund legal representation so we may stop their second attempt at refiling a “new” application for the LA Fitness
project. We believed that we had stopped the project in July. However, our previous efforts and attempts
resulted in the project moving forward due to their sneaky tactics of filing under a new application. The
committee will continue to meet and work the issues. We will inform the public of the process….via social
media, news outlets, and local organizations who serve the citizens. ANY donation amount will be appreciated! We need the funds immediately to first address the parking situation that will affect all of the North Seal Beach and Rossmoor residents. Then we will need additional funds to obtain legal counsel to ensure the safety of all residents and that the property values of Seal Beach, Rossmoor, and Los Alamitos don’t lessen due to the negative impact of the LA Fitness project. Your donation will be protecting numerous neighbors against the addition of thousands of cars going through our neighborhood and adding more congestion on the major boulevards. Your donation will also be putting a halt on a building that will be noisy and open 20 hours a day. Most importantly, emergency responders will be able to get to people in need quickly, and our residents will be able to walk to school, sports practice, scouts, church, the library and parks SAFELY.
