Please help us to help some animals!
On Friday after work, Patrick and I are driving down to Houston, Texas to assist the wonderful people at Houston Pets Alive in their efforts to help the animals affected by Hurricane Harvey.
We've been blessed with a reliable vehicle, a place to stay (many thanks to Mr. Jon Zmikly), and a three day weekend!
Would you like to help us out? We could use a little money for travel expenses. Any extra cash will go right to the Houston Pets Alive organization.
We did our research when seeking out a place to volunteer in the Houston area. Please check out their website (http://www.houstonpetsalive.org). Houston Pets Alive has an amazing interactive map where residents can post about animal related emergency situations with the exact location so people in the community can come to their aid.
At this time, we do not have a list of needed supplies, but when a list is posted, and if we have time to collect them, we will post it here. We will also post photos and keep you updated through our adventure.
P.S. Friday is our ten year wedding anniversary - and we couldn't think of a better way to spend the day than helping animals - lucky us!

Thank you so very much for your generosity. If we haven't met in person, let me tell you a bit about us: we are Patrick and Heather Holloman, a husband and wife living in Colorado Springs, Colorado and love animals.
$250 of the funds you have so graciously donated will be spent on gas for our 15 hour journey to Houston, driving around if necessary to run tasks for Houston Pets Alive, and then the drive home. Some of the additional funds may be spent on emergency supplies for people or animals we meet along the way if needed. All additional money will be donated to Houston Pets Alive from our bank account via their website. We will post photos and updates about every opportunity we get to help animals so that you can see exactly how your donations are making a difference.
