Chris' Masters Degree Fund

Since I could throw and catch a football, sports has been my passion.   Through the years ESPN is the channel I would watch and I would memorize statistics and watch every game I could find on TV.
When I was 16 my mom passed away suddenly at age 44 and my family was in a bad situation. She was a nurse and brought home most of the money. She did the house's laundry, cooking, cleaning and made sure my brother and I had a great life. My dad was left to resume her duties and work to keep our house. Not even a month after my mom passed away, my dad ended up in the hospital with a heart condition which forced him into retirement. My brother was finishing up his first year of college and I was going to be entering my junior year in high school.
Fast forward to my graduation of highschool: I finished high school in the top 10% of my class, a member of the National Honor Society and received one scholarship. There were four "full ride" scholarships given out to my fellow highschool classmates. Now, only one still receives that scholarship because of poor grades or they dropped out. I was neglected from financial aid since high school.
I had to choose between two schools. One had the major which supported my passion but was unaffordable, or the affordable school where I could try and find a niche. I ended up with the less expensive school.
When I got to college, I received some financial aid and scholarships for my grades but never anything substantial to make a big impact. By my sophmore year, my dad re-married and a new family was created. Since they now live with us, I was no longer aided because of her income and two additional children in college.
Going through school and having completed two internships, I thought I was on the right path, but I was wrong. My mom always taught me to follow my dreams and pursue my passion. I realized that I need to follow my passion and pursue the business of sports.
I am graduating from college this summer and plan to move to Florida right after I get my degree. I have earned Dean's list and entry to the Sigma Alpha Lambda honors fraternity. I will be graduating with the cum laude honors or better.
Recently, I got a job writing for a sports website, so I have some experience now. I will stop at nothing to fulfill my dreams.
I found an amazing school that offers a dual degree. An MBA and a Masters of Sports Businesss Managment. I would have to pay out of state tuition and for an apartment. The money from this fund would go straight to my tuition and my living cost.
Thank you to whoever decides to donate to my dream. God bless.
