Our mission is to extend a helping hand to our neighbours in need.
We aim to offer relief to individuals who find themselves forced to decide between having clean clothes or meeting other basic needs (ie food, shelter, medical expenses etc).
We're not the first of our kind. Modelling after the Pope's free laundry intitiave and other cities that have identified clean clothes as part of basic self care, we hope to help our neighbours even if its just with a free wash and dry.
We are promoting this service to those in need of our support due to their financial circumstances.

On Saturday May 13, 2017, we had Clean Break's first open hours laundry service from 6am -12am.
The Lost Sock laundromat (http://www.lostsockto.com)
had graciously partnered with us to use their machines and event space.
The donations were used to purchase washer and dryer loads, detergent, dryer sheets, print outs for flyers and light snacks and water bottles for distribution.
Gently used clothing were also be available on a "take as you need" basis during the event.
After this first pop up laundry service, we hope to continue on a monthly basis. We are constantly evaluating and planning on how to better serve our community.
We have raised our goal to $1000 so that we can support longer laundry hours and in various parts of the city. Keep an eye out for more laundry days to come!
On Sunday June 25, 2017 we offered light snacks,water and gently used clothing at Moss Park to promote our future laundry days and get to know our community even more.
After getting to know the community, we held our second laundry day on Sunday July 23, 2017 at Papa's Laundry by Sherbourne and Dundas. We provided 21 washes and 17 dryer loads to our new friends in the neighbourhood! It was a great turn out and we learned more about the best times to offer our services.
