XII Congreso Latinoam. de Botanica

Estimados Colegas y Amigos,
En nombre de la Asociación Latinoamericana de Botánica, y como presidenta del Comité Organizador, es un gran honor y placer para mí invitarlos al XII Congreso Latinoamericano de Botánica, que se realizará en la Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana, Ciudad de Quito, Ecuador, del 21 al 28 de Octubre del 2018.
En este Congreso se incluyen los temas de mayor actualidad en la investigación botánica en Latinoamérica, y el lema del congreso es la "Botánica en Latinoamérica, realidad y desarrollo virtual". El Programa se desarrollará en base a 9 Conferencias Magistrales, 47 Simposios, 9 Mesas Redondas, y más de 500 Presentaciones Orales y/o Posters. En todos los casos existirá un espacio destinado a la discusión del tema en cuestión. Junto con los destacados colegas internacionales, participarán expertos de nuestro país, los cuales han colaborado con este Comité Organizador de manera estrecha y entusiasta.
Debido al Decreto de Austeridad en el Ecuador, ha sido muy difícil que instituciones públicas y privadas contribuyan a la organización de este evento, por lo que nuestro objetivo de reunir una amplia gama de botánicos, desde estudiantes hasta profesionales con becas o apoyo económico ha sido imposible hasta la fecha. Es por ello, que recurrimos a todos los colegas y apasionados de las plantas para crear un fondo económico, con el fin de proporcionar este apoyo financiero a los estudiantes y jóvenes profesionales latinoamericanos.
Por favor, ayúdenos a hacer posible nuestro mayor objetivo una realidad. Cualquier contribución que desee nos ayudarán a proporcionar a los futuros botánicos acceso a esta conferencia internacional que contará con científicos provenientes de 29 países de los 5 continentes.

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the Latin American Association of Botany, and as president of the Organizing Committee, it is a great honor and pleasure for me to invite you to the XII Latin American Botany Congress, which will be held at la Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana in the city of Quito, Ecuador, from October 21-28, 2018.
This Congress includes the most current topics in botanical research in Latin America, and the theme of the congress is "Botany in Latin America, reality and virtual development". The Program will be developed based on 9 Magisterial Conferences, 47 Symposiums, 9 Round Tables, and more than 500 oral and / or posters presentations. In all cases there will be a space for discussion of the subject in question. Along with the outstanding international colleagues, experts from our country will participate, who have collaborated with this Organizing Committee in a close and enthusiastic manner.
Due to the austerity decree in Ecuador, it has been very difficult for public and private institutions to contribute to the organization of this event. Making our objective of bringing together a wide range of botanists, from students to professionals with scholarships or economic support has been impossible to date. That is why we turn to all colleagues and those who are passionate about plants to create an economic fund, in order to provide this financial support to students and young Latin American professionals.
Please, help us make this goal a reality. Any contribution that you make will help us provide future botanists with access to this international conference that will feature scientists from 29 countries on 5 continents.
