Clay Harper was recently diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome has been air-lifted from Meridian to UAB today. He will remain in ICU/CCU at UAB until he is stablized and improving. As of now, he has no feeling in his lower extremities and is relying on a ventilator  for respiritory support.
Guillain-Barre (gee-YAH-buh-RAY) syndrome is a rare disorder in which your body's immune system attacks your nerves. Weakness and tingling in your extremities are usually the first symptoms.

These sensations can quickly spread, eventually paralyzing your whole body. In its most severe form Guillain-Barre syndrome is a medical emergency. Most people with the condition must be hospitalized to receive treatment.  Hospitalization varies from case to case, but often requires many months inpatient followed by rigorous and lengthy rehabilitation.

Clay is an otherwise healthy 40 year old. He is a loving husband to Renee, and father of two children--Rayleigh and Riggs.  This unfortunate situation is going to be a major financial hardship on the family.  Even if you are unable to donate at this time, we covet your prayers.  Please share this GoFundMe on your facebook, IG, etc so that we can support them to the best of our ability.

Check back regularly for updates on Clay's condition and his family.

We ask that you please respect their privacy as much as possible and understand that replys to text messages may take longer than expected, and phone calls to the family may not be returned promptly. A lot is going on, and it's a lot to process.

Thank you for your love and support,
