Claire needs a chair!!!!

My name is Claire, I live in Northern Ireland and I have a condition called dystonia. It causes muscle contraction and shortening as well as spasms and abnormal posturing. 

Because of my condition I use a powered wheelchair to get around as I cannot stand or walk. Recently my current wheelchair has not been meeting my needs to be as independent and active as I would like. 

In 2016 I competed in the Paralympic Games in my current wheelchair, which has been adapted to be my everyday wheelchair also doubling up to be my sports wheelchair. Moving forward this can no longer continue as I require different things from a sports wheelchair to an everyday wheelchair to be able to compete at the top levels. 

The wheelchair that I am fundraising for will be my everyday wheelchair.

My current wheelchair enables me to recline to a certain degree but not to a level where I can stretch out my muscles.
I also am unable to be at eye level with my peers often having people kneel down to talk to me.

The wheelchair I am fundraising for is a Quantum Q6 Edge.  The benefits to this wheelchair are endless, I will be able to tilt back to 50 degrees,  which is essential to stretch my muscles out and I will also be able to rise up to eye level, to have conversations, be more independent and grasp items previously out of my reach. 

This is may seem like so little for a huge price tag but for me it will forever change my perspective of the world.

Getting this wheelchair will change my outlook and quality of life massively. Thank you for any part you can play in this.
