CJ3 Tennis Team Champions to Nationals

Since 2013, a group of residents of the urbanization Ciudad Jardin 3 (CJ3) of Toa Alta, came together to form a team sport they love: tennis. This team has been signed up to play league 18 & over in the Sectional Tournament of the United States Tennis Association ("USTA"). The integration of other players from different parts of Puerto Rico prepared a team one of high achieving significant victories. As a result of these victories, our team CJ3 has been runner-up in the category 2.5 in 2013, runner-up in the category 3.0 and runner-up in the Mixed category 6.0 in 2014. These categories are established by the USTA.
On May 3, 2015, our team reached a new achievement became champion in the category 3.5 League 18 & over the USTA. Champion team have the honor and responsibility to represent Puerto Rico in the USTA National Competitions which will be held from 7 to October 11, 2015 in Indian Wells, California.
Although we have the talent, enthusiasm and spirit to represent our country, we do not have the resources to mobilize our ten (10) players to competitive tendering. The budget provides cover transportation costs and land area, lodging, meals and uniforms.
We know that the task of gathering these resources is difficult and economic problems occurring in the country are complicated. However, we believe in the good will of our people and that is why we are writing to you to request your support and patronage, which will leave an indelible mark in achieving our goal. Any donation will be appreciated.
Desde el 2013, un grupo de residentes de la urbanización Ciudad Jardín 3 (CJ3) de Toa Alta, se unieron para formar un equipo del deporte que les apasiona, el tenis. Este equipo fue inscrito para jugar la Liga 18&over en el torneo seccional del United States Association of Tennis (“USTA”). La integración de otros jugadores de diferentes partes de Puerto Rico logró que el equipo fuera uno de alto nivel alcanzando triunfos importantes. Como resultado a estas victorias, nuestro equipo de CJ3, ha sido subcampeón en la categoría 2.5 en el año 2013, subcampeón en la categoría 3.0 y subcampeón en la categoría Mixta 6.0 en el año 2014. Estas categorías son establecidas por la USTA.
El día 3 de mayo de 2015, nuestro equipo alcanzó un nuevo logro: se proclamó campeón en la categoría 3.5 de la Liga 18&over del USTA. Como equipo campeón tenemos el honor y responsabilidad de representar a Puerto Rico en las Competencias Nacionales de la USTA que se llevaran a cabo del 7 al 11 de octubre de 2015 en Indian Wells, California.
Aunque contamos con el talento, entusiasmo y espíritu para representar a nuestro País, no contamos con los recursos suficientes para movilizar a nuestros diez (10) jugadores a dicha competencia. El presupuesto contempla cubrir gastos de transportación área y terrestre, hospedaje, alimentación y uniformes.
Sabemos que la tarea de acopio de dichos recursos es ardua y los problemas económicos que ocurren en el País son complicados. Sin embargo, creemos en la buena voluntad de nuestra gente y es por ello que nos dirigimos a ustedes para solicitar su apoyo y patrocinio, en el cual dejará una huella imborrable en el logro de nuestro objetivo. Cualquier aportación será apreciada.
