Cinema Creating Change

Documentary cinema, being the most productive and personal way of sharing unique stories, is quickly evolving as a medium of effective journalism. There is an ocean of narratives out there that haven’t been touched upon and sexual harassment of women at workplace is one of them.

We’re focusing on India, one of the leading countries with booming workforces in every known sector; and also happens to have the highest statistics in workplace sexual harassment.

Our motive is to use our cross-cultural insights and our talent as filmmakers, to showcase injustice against women in the workforce in India. The film will follow the experiences of several women from different work sectors of society through interviews, as they share their story and their understanding of how one should deal with the nightmare of filing a legal complaint, we take organisations one step closer to take a hard look at their existing redressal committees.

Our team expands to three different countries as of now, and is made up of three independent and successful women. Vaishnavi Sundar, the director, is a talented filmmaker from Chennai, India who is the founder of Lime Soda Films and Women Making Films. Our editor, Lisa Friedhofen, is a successful film editor from Germany. Lastly, Hannah Latimer-Snell, the executive producer of the films, is a young, proactive social activist who is working with with Vaishnavi in bringing this film to life. We intend to build an all-women team and are taking in more and more interested women onboard.

Of all the challenges we are willing to face in this journey, we sincerely hope that money won’t be one of them. That’s the reason we’re reaching out to humble souls who can make this happen for us and for the world. Our budget sums up to $11,000 which includes, three main areas: $3,000 for editing , $4,000 for set rentals and preparation and $4,000 for crew salaries.

But here we are only trying to raise $3,000.
