Cierra's Funeral Fundraiser

Dear Family and Friends,
I have lost my baby sister as a result of senseless gun violence. She was just 25 years of age before her life was taken. This incident came at a time when she was in the process of restoring her life. After graduating from Berkeley High she tried to continue with her academic studies but had some challenges. She made some bad decisions that resulted in incarceration, however after her release she managed to re-enroll at Contra Costa Community College and commit to her studies. She then excelled academically earning A’s and B’s which allowed her to apply and receive multiple scholarships and acquire her AA Degree in Communication in the English Language & Critical Thinking. She then transferred to the historic Black college Clark Atlanta University to continue her studies in Communications. Cierra was intelligent, charismatic, and she had vibrant sense of humor that resonated with her friends and family. We would appreciate any help towards financing this funeral by donating or sharing this link so that we can give Cierra the Homegoing she deserves.
I want to also highlight that this is not just an isolated incident that happened to Cierra. Gun violence is prevalent throughout many Black communities across the country. Families and communities are ruptured and grieve everyday due to gun violence. We have been conditioned to believe that this is normal when in fact IT’S NOT. We need more UNITY and less DIVISION. Gun violence continues to plague our communities and we cannot rely on law enforcement or politicians to resolve this. Research and policies can only go so far with this – it is ultimately on us to assure that this won’t happen to anymore of our sisters and brothers.
