Help - we need your support!

The Sandlot League was setup to give Cicero youth baseball players the opportunity to improve their skills and keep their minds in the game during the off season and to be better prepared for the Little League AAA and Majors Divisions.

And it was offered for free to everyone who participated!

But we need your support for our summer session costs, our upcoming winter session, clinics and workouts - and to take it to the next level for everyone as the Cicero Wizards!

What your donation helps cover:

The donations we receive will be used to cover the costs from the Summer session and to pay for our upcoming Winter session expenses - plus it will also help with setting up the Cicero Wizards organization.

This includes:

Team insurance so we can play & practice anywhere.
Umpire fees for game umpires.
Registration fees for games or tournaments.
Equipment, such as balls, tees & training aids.
Fees for indoor fields for winter sessions.
Fees for indoor batting cages for winter sessions.
Fees for professional training sessions
Team uniforms, apparel, gear
Banners and fundraising
Various fees and league related costs
Legal fees
The ability to include more players!!

The more we raise, the more we can do - and the more kids we can sign up to participate!

PLUS -- we're lining up appearances from baseball professionals and already have a current major league player scheduled to visit with us during our winter session!

Moving Forward - Sandlot to Wizards

While the basic structure and goal of the Sandlot League will be the same, we are transitioning the name to the Cicero Wizards as an open baseball organization.

It will be similar to local organizations, such as the Bville Swarm and Liverpool Spartans - but without the extreme financial burdens placed on parents. Far too many kids are excluded from baseball clubs, camps and travel teams due to high costs.

We plan on continuing with a winter session to begin after fall ball, so your donations will help make that happen!

Cicero Wizards Baseball can be a Game Changer for area players...

About Us

The Sandlot League was started by a group of Cicero Little League coaches who decided to volunteer their time to create something fun, inspiring and productive for local youth baseball players.

It was not a profit-driven league or camp and it was offered for free to any player who wants to participate.

We had about 30 players participating in our summer session meeting up to 3 times per week with each session lasting about 2 hours.

Sessions were more about skills development and less about competition and records. We tried to play intra-squad scrimmages each session and keep score – but it was meant to be relaxed and fun!

Outside of sessions, we setup games against area teams and tried to participate in area tournaments with a league team - called the Cicero Wizards. Tournament teams were open to whoever wanted to play (they just needed to sign-up and pay their own expenses).

The Crew: Mike Fudge, Dan Smith, Kirk Capece and Trevor Starowicz.

We appreciate the help of assistant coaches and volunteers, including Jeff Malecki, Matt Snyder, Matt Govendo and Ryan Coyle.

Cicero has such a large, engaged and energized Little League Baseball community, that we're hoping to get the support needed to make this something fun - and accessible - for as many families as possible.
