For Ciara and Liam

On 4 November 2019, Ciara NicEabhairdh (34) went to her GP regarding some swelling in her face thinking she may have had an allergic reaction.  Her GP quickly sent her to hospital, worried that she may have had a stroke.  That evening it was discovered that Ciara had a dark mass in her brain, which turned out to be a brain tumor.

Ciara had surgery within the week however, the surgeons were unable to remove the tumor and her legs, hearing and vision were all impacted post surgery.  Biopsy results confirmed the worst - stage 4 melanoma, with an incredibly rare and dangerously aggressive subtype.

Ciara faced the news head on and started treatment the next day receiving immunotherapy and targeted radiotherapy.

On 12 January 2020, our beautiful girl passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved her and who she loved the most including her parents Tommy and Myra, partner Iain and closest friends.

Ciara faced her battle with cancer like she did all challenges in her life, with unprecedented levels of strength, dignity, humor and grace.  The fact these remained intact from the day of her diagnosis to her last breath is testament to her character.

Where most would have crumbled and may have felt bitter at the world, Ciara's focus remained, as usual, on others, no one more than her son Liam (3), the love of her life.

Ciara was an inherently kind and caring person and every ounce of her body was ingrained with selfless humanity.

She was fun, fantastically mischievious, and had a wonderful 'why not' attitude with a witty remark for any occasion.  She was unbelievably bright with intelligence levels which would challenge Hermione Granger (a fellow HP nerd).  Despite being thrown more life challenges and hardships than most, she excelled in life and was an inspiration as an individual, a mother and a woman.

Her generosity and capacity to love knew no boundaries, even if it was at her own detriment.  She was always the first to offer help whether it be donating to a good cause, offering a bed to a friend in need, fostering a dog, or helping a complete stranger.

Ciara leaves behind so many heartbroken people (and doggies Wolfie and Pixie!), but most important of all, her 3 year old son Liam who Ciara lived for.

Ciara achieved so much in her life but Liam was by far the greatest.  Ciara gave him every opportunity possible and he was the most loved little man.

Liam is a mini Ciara.  He is exactly how a 3 year old should be.  Full of mischief, laughter and love.  His knowledge of dinosaurs is a force to be reckoned with and he is such a happy and good wee boy.

Liam will be cared for by Ciara's partner Iain - her other greatest love.  Iain has been by Ciara's side the entire time and is the only person who could ever match her levels of fundamental kindness and genuine goodness.  There is nobody that Ciara trusted more to raise her son, he is the father that Ciara had always hoped for Liam and the only Father Liam has ever known.  They adore each other.

No money will ever bring Ciara back but we would like to raise some money to help give Ciara the most wonderful send off and to ensure that Liam has every opportunity that Ciara dreamed of available to him.  This includes ensuring that Liam can continue to visit his Grandparents in Ireland each year, who Liam has a very special relationship with.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Sincere Thanks.
