Throughout his life, Chunky fought for civil rights. His music provides an important perspective on the bicultural experience. Chunky’s talent was such that he could take on serious issues with a positive and contagious energy. In addition to his role as a musician, Chunky worked with local youth in roles such as sports coach, youth center director, counselor, and teacher. He has received numerous awards and honors, including a National Endowment for the Arts Heritage Fellowship.
Chunky’s family appreciates our financial support, as well as our thoughts and prayers. We have created this fund to honor his memory!
