Open the door-New Store location.

Nearly 10 years ago Native Herbs and honey Co. was founded. Due to a serious health issues, divorce and trying to manage it all alone, the store had to be closed last summer.
Alas, rejuvenated and re-inspired by the rest and healing time, a new beautiful location is secured. A wellness center, healing center, teaching location, community center, and all it needs is some fixing up, electricity, water, paint, plumbing and stock.

Violet and Jeanette are offering a safe place for people to gather and be together. A place to share, learn and most importantly, laugh. We are creating a learning center. In doing so, we are opening a space for community to develop. Both Violet and Jeanette want people to learn in a way that is devoid of Western doctrine. Here, both women offer an opportunity to teach their skills without the burden of bureaucracy.

Both the education aspects and the physical spaces are flexible, growing and evolving. Each day determines what is offered, taking into account environmental, political, and what is happening now. While the content of the day is not always guaranteed, relevancy and common-sense is assured. Some of the workshops will include Herbology, The Art of Tea, Soap Making, Permaculture Design, to name a few. As we move forward, we will also include workshops in community talents that are brought in to share.

Everyone is welcome and we encourage you to bring your friends. These workshops will allow you to establish an in-depth relationship at The Chumash Center and be a part of our growing Earth based family.

We want you to know that this is not about us, but about our Earth.

It is important to us to pass on what we know, because what we know is important to the health of our Earth, our mutual communities, our families, and our Selves.

We want you to live well and be happy so we can share a better time together while we are on this journey. We want you to make a difference that will be passed on to your future generations because it empowers all of us to do the right thing for the ones that are not yet born.

You're not going to help people just by coming and taking classes. We want you to fully participate, to sing, to dance, to laugh, and share the joy of life with us in every way. We really need this link back to each other.  The Chumash Center will be a place where we enjoy the beauty of being alive.

In partnership with premier indigenous herbalists and permaculture instructors, we are going to fundraise to meet our goal of opening the door this spring.
Your in-kind donation will be matched with credit for classes and shopping in the new location via a gift certificate.
Our center will be the headquarters of the marine sanctuary. It will be a location for all the community groups to gather including the core groups like Outside Now, City Repair, and Village Building Convergence.

The retail location will include a collective of local artists, foodies and world-renowned instructors teaching in harmony with indigenous herbalists, beekeeping and farming.
