Chuck Hill Surgical Fund
On Tuesday, December 13, Chuck fractured his radius and dislocated his hand while attempting to catch himself during a fall. We sought care immediately at Denton Regional Medical Center, and the staff was fantastic. The dislocation was reduced under anesthesia, but we were referred to an orthopedic surgeon for further diagnosis and treatment.
Today our orthopedic surgeon confirmed that this fracture will require surgery to correct the damage. The surgeon will install a plate and 3-5 screws, and the expected recovery time is 6-8 weeks.
We're asking for your support because with Chuck being a self-employed entreprenuer, no one in our family has health insurance. Even with the ACA, we can't afford the monthly premiums for even the lowest level plans.
Not including the ER bill, which we have yet to see, the cost of this procedure (physician's fee, surgical fees, anesthesia, and prescriptions) will be nearly $8000. These fees are due prior to the surgery which is scheduled for this coming Monday, the 19th. We have applied for CareCredit and been denied, and we have no other means of covering these costs.
This is my plea:
If Chuck has ever worked on your car, or given you a job, if he has chaperoned you or your child, or if you have lived in his home, if he has ever made a positive impact on you or someone you love, if he has made your life better in some way, please pray for him. And if you are in the position to do so, please also donate any amount of money that you are able.
Without this surgery, he will likely lose complete mobility of his left wrist and develop severe arthritis.
Chuck has always endeavored to help others while expecting nothing in return. I'm asking you, on his behalf, to please consider blessing him with your support, both in word and in deed.
I know that the Christmas season is a time when many find themselves short on funds for a variety of reasons, but if you can even donate $5 or $10, it would be more appreciated than I can begin to express.
