The Accident
My friend Connie was in a serious car accident one year ago. She was struck on the front driver’s side.
Her left foot was broken.
Within days it became obvious that she had also suffered a brain injury. Although her foot has healed, she has been unable to return to work due to the brain injury. She also is suffering from PTSD. Initially she was not able to care for herself and needed someone to cook for her and help with personal care. Slowly she is recovering with the help of multiple doctors, nurses, and therapists.
The Aftermath
During this past year, Connie’s insurance company has paid her medical bills but has refused to pay lost wages. She owned a cleaning company and because she has been unable to work, she had to close the business. She is trying to survive until she receives some kind of lost-wage compensation, but she has run out of savings. Without savings, her business income, or lost-wages compensation, she is at risk of losing her home and her car. We are asking for your help to keep her going until she is released to work or begins receiving payment from the insurance company.
