Christine's Ministry to Senegal

My call to do some mission work in Senegal isn't spur of the moment or a rushed decision. Rather it was a series of actions and blessings God had placed in my life. And it all started with a children's poem, which led to a children's book, which led to another children's book, and then another. My last two books were written and compiled while I was legally blind and awaiting two surgeries. I could not see my  keyboard or computer screen. I still have my legal pads and fat, black Sharpie markers I used to write out the stories long hand...approximately eight to ten words to a page!!! These projects were 100% God inspired and God led.

Fast forward a bit and a missionary couple who used my books in other parts of the world needed a French translation of my books to use in Senegal. Once they received those books, every waking moment I had was filled with thoughts of Senegal and the street children there. Every story I came across was of Senegal. People stopping at my job for lunch had been to Senegal. There have been so many incidents relating to Senegal, that I knew God was not only guiding my path, but confirming what I believed He has been calling me to do.

God has blessed me beyond measure. When we leave our hearts open for God to fill the space, no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in the middle of, we must always place our trust in Him. I love this quote from "Experiencing God" by Henry & Richard Blackaby: "When you trust that God always gives His best, you will devote your heart to whatever assignment God gives because you know in that role you can experience everything God has in His heart for you."

The monies raised will be used for vaccinations, passport, travel fees, and of course copies of my books and art supplies for the mission site in Senegal. I will post updates regularly to keep you all informed. Thank you all so very much!
