On February 15th 2018, after two years of remission, Christie's AML Leukemia came back. While she has health insurance, her out of pocket costs are enormous, and her family needs help covering them.
She is going in for a bone marrow transplant on Sep 20, and the out of pocket costs for the procedure will be over $6000. In addition, her brother, who is the donor, will need to cover multiple flights between Pennsylvania and Texas, as well as lodging, and her family will need to cover the costs of lodging and outpatient care once the transplant is over and she is discharged to the vicinity of the hospital.
