Christel Volunteering in Tanzania

In September 2016 I will start college and before diving into college life, I want to make a long-cherished wish come true: volunteer abroad!

I've decided to go to Tanzania in July 2016, where I'll be volunteering at Good Hope Orphanage in Arusha, an orphanage that gives "a place to call home" to 22 children. At the orphanage I will help cooking and cleaning but I will also be playing with the kids and help them with their homework. There is an elementary school next to the orphanage, where I will be helping as well. I will organise some crafts and sports activities and give the children the individual help they need but can't always get because of the large number of students.

I'll stay at Good Hope Orphanage for a month, from the twelfth of July to the twelfth of August 2016.

Of course this trip will cost a lot of money and I've been saving money for a while now. However, I will need a lot of money for college too, but I don't want this to prevent me from making my dream come true. The trip isn't the only thing that will cost money. I definitely want to bring some clothes, games and toys for the children too.

By donating some of your money, I will be able to complete my volunteering trip to Tanzania in the beautiful way I've always wished for. Volunteering for a month may not seem a lot of help, but just like a Tanzanian proverb says: "Little by little, a little becomes a lot".
