Christine Buerger Sitter is my baby sister who has valiently lived with brain cancer these past 10 years. She and her husband Dan Sitter have 2 beautiful daughters named Ellie, who is 12 and Maggie, who is 9.

Christine is a teacher and a librarian who is and always has been very passionate about learning, reading and writing. Her entire life has centered around encouraging people, particularly children, to read all types of literature and to discuss their thoughts and ideas on the topics. She believes education is the key to unlocking anyone's potential - and Christine has nurtured this philosophy every day single day - in the classroom, in the library, everywhere. Her husband Dan, too, is a teacher who also loves learning. Together they've instilled very strong educational values within and throughout their daughters' lives with reading, journaling and discussions happening every day. It is obvious to anyone who has had the privilege of knowing Christine and Dan that education is the cornerstone of their family's foundation.

Sadly, Christine's time with us here has ended. She passed away on Monday, June 8th with her family by her side. Christine's ability to contribute to the dream of seeing her daughers graduate from college has been cut short. As a family, we promised we'd see her dream come true.

As we celebrate her life and remember her passions, we strongly believe that the best way to honor her is to give her the ultimate gift: a college fund for her daughters. This is the best memorial anyone could give Christine.

Christine has touched countless lives and has lived life to the fullest. As you consider a donation for her dream, please share a memory or two.....for then her passion for reading and storytelling will be seen, heard and, hopefully discussed throughout homes, classrooms, libraries, and everywhere in between.
