Actor/Comedian Chris Roach and the Save a Pet foundation have banded together to raise money and bring awareness to animal adoption. Together we can raise money for the Save a Pet van to safely transport the animals. Below is a letter from Chris as well as information about the Shelter:
Hello there!
Thank you for visiting my page here at Save-a-Pet and for taking an interest in making a better life for these beautiful pets. It always amazes me, given the way some of these dogs and cats were treated in the past, how loving and forgiving they are. Their only desire is to give love and be loved.
To watch the transformation from when they are first rescued to when they finally make it to their forever home is truly amazing. Dori and the staff at Save-a-Pet have saved countless dogs and cats, and this was made possible through public donations. Through your donation you can TRULY make a difference. Save-A-Pet is a non-profit, no-kill shelter 501c(3) organization located in Port Jefferson Station, Long Island. The organization, founded in 1994 by Dori Scofield, is supported solely by public donations, and every dollar makes a difference. At their Long Island animal shelter, they believe that it is their moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless cats and dogs, and to place them in loving permanent homes. They provide spay and neuter services for Long Island feral cats and any necessary medical care for pets. They work diligently to educate the public, especially children, on the importance of pet sterilization, responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals.
