Hi, my name is Karen Buelow. Most of you know that my brother Chris is battling a nasty form of cancer called angiosarcoma. We have set up this fund as a way for everyone to be able to do something to help. How we got to this point is a bit of a long story.
Chris and Diane have had to endure so many negative and stressful things over the last three years. The collapse of one business over the recession, and major hit against another with the Chinese recession. He lost his thumb in 2014 while building their dream home on the Colorado. Followed by a break-in and theft at their home.
Due to a hospital error, he had to endure 8 surgeries in 2015 to try to save his thumb, and in the end we feel this was the cause of his cancer. Although he has had a lot of help from Diane and his sons Tyler, Aaron and his wife Amanda, finishing the house has had to take a back seat to trying to get well.
Starting in November 2015, he began to experience intermittent pain in his abdomen. In March of this year his spleen ruptured. Emergency surgery removed the spleen and pathology revealed the deadly angiosarcoma. The traditional medical world told him he had limited time to live and they didn’t have much to offer. We have placed great hope in alternative treatments to save his life, and are still rallying as a team to help him beat this awful diagnosis.
A week ago, when oncologists confirmed Chris's liver was under attack from the cancer and in stages of liver failure. But we rallied as a family, and sent Aaron to Tijuana, Mexico to consult with doctors at Bio-Medical Center. With the help of cousin Erik and his friends, they successfully crossed the border with the “Hoxsey” tonic and several herbal/mineral supplements designed to cure the cancer and support the liver and immune system. The Hoxsey tonic is an interesting story, originally discovered and developed in the 1800’s with eventually 18 clinics across the US in the early 1900’s. The government finally kicked them out in mid-century and they have been curing cancer from Mexico ever since. Even stage 4 liver cancer.
As you can imagine, Chris & Diane are facing a daunting pile of medical bills, costs for alternative treatments and technologies and all of the other costs associated with his care and support. Besides prayers and gifts of food, so many people have asked how they can help. So we decided to set up this fund to give you - our family, friends, colleagues, acquaintances and anyone else - a way to help Chris and Diane.
