Chris LaBarbera and Family Not Doing So Great

I am writing this message on behalf of an amazing trumpet player, teacher, and dear friend of mine, Chris LaBarbera. If you know him, then you know what a great trumpet player he is. If you don’t, take a listen to his version of Harry James’s “Concerto for Trumpet” or his solo on “St. James Infirmary,” and I have no doubt that you will be impressed.
Chris’s wife, Vicki, unfortunately lost her job recently, and Chris has suffered from a couple health issues, including recovering from a fall that was in no way his fault. Despite these obstacles, Chris has been continuing to work as a professional trumpet player. Amazingly, he has been driving 70 miles one-way (140 miles round-trip) to his old gigs in Miami several times per-week, to continue to work.
Unfortunately, although his wife has filled out over 70 job applications and has been doing interviews, she has not yet landed a job. Vicki has struggled to find work largely due to the fact that she is in her mid-fifties, and it’s really hard to find a job at that age. In addition, Chris, being the same age himself, faces the same issues and has also seen the wages of his gigs go down to as low as $80-100, which is not enough to live on.
Any money raised could go a very long way, and could give Chris and his family some breathing room as they get back on their feet.
Chris is an extremely generous human being. I have firsthand seen him help so many people and never ask for anything in return. If you are able to do so, any money that you can contribute to help this cause would be greatly appreciated.
