Children’s Home Mission Trip - Well Drilling Team

I am getting ready to head out with our next construction team to the children’s home our church built in Kenya (2004) this November. The young fellow in the picture is Geoffrey. We have been sponsoring him to go to High School with 2 other families for several years. He studies hard and plans to make a difference for his country. He loves to draw and has the best smile. We love being a source of hope for him for his future! For several years the Home has been struggling with intermittent water pumping from a local source next door to our property.  Sometime things went well for long stretches. This also meant there were times we only had rain water for the children. That made it pretty tough.  Last year, Lake Point Church, Oxford, MI, partnered with us (Mt. Moriah) and raised the money to drill our own well for the Children’s Home. We are very excited!

On this trip I will be helping take care of the team of contractors and volunteers who will be drilling the well and tending to the water issues as well as repairs. I’ll be cooking and helping with the essential needs of the team like shopping for food, household chores, errands, as well as encouraging our Kenyan staff.

The cost for the trip includes the plane ticket, food expense, in country travel, malaria meds and visa. If you can help, that would be awesome. Your prayers for the team would also be most appreciated. Thank you!
