Childcare Volunteer in Nepal

Hi my name is Aine, I have been working in the area of community work and care services since I was 18. I am a counsellor and child play therapist and when I found this project, it inspired me and has made me want to give back.
Over the passed 3 years I have been a carer to both my parents and my husband who passed away before Christmas. During these 3 years I have done a lot of soul searching a memory that stood out to me most was a young African girl coming to our school when I was 7. Since then, it has been a dream of mine to volunteer abroad.
The project that stood out most to me, apart from it being for over 50's :) was the Nepal project due to the high level of poverty experienced by Nepalese kids!
84% of the population live under the poverty level!
Education is only for 6-11 year olds!
There is a huge problem with child trafficking, kids as young as 7.
Having been a volunteer for many years for the rape crisis center and being a qualified Montessori teacher, and also in my capacity as the Youth Homeless Coordinator in South Dublin, I feel that this project is where I should be.
The funding which I am looking for will go towards training, stationery, materials and schooling for the children I will be working with.
As this project begins on October 28th, I am looking for the funding to come through as quickly as possible so I can be ready to go and have given the funds before I leave.
I will be working directly with the charity and the children.
