child school trip funding

So I am packing for my daughter's first school trip. She is leaving on Monday. She is having a sleepover tomorrow and whilst arranging it I asked Mum if her daughter was looking forwards to it. There was an embarrassed silence and she said, ' she isn't going, I can't afford it'. 

Now in this day and age there are people who need help. This lady didn't meet the criteria for help from the council  because she works and doesn't claim benefits. Her child is the only child in the school who is not going. Its such an awful situation for this child  to be in. Its late notice I know but I really need some help here. If you can spare £1 or £5 it will really not take long to raise this given the amount of people whom I hope will see this.
