Artistic production company specializing in cross-cultural connections announces fashion showcase at prestigious latinidad museum in the Santa fe arts district of Denver, CO. to benefit earthquake survivors of Chiapas, Mexico.

Presentation will take place at Museo de las Americas located at 861 Santa Fe drive, Denver, CO 80204 on Thursday the 15th of February from 6-8pm.

Parallel Artistic productions in conjunction with Xitlali designs and Mexican non-profit organization, ConcentrARTE, announce a follow-up to their January 2018 benefit fashion and performance show that collected donations to help survivors of the devastating 2017 earthquake in a new, and more holistic, manner.

In response to the community’s support, this appreciation event, entitled “Chiapas – Esencia Artesanal” will thank sponsors, participants, donors, and also award silent auction items for which bids were placed during the last month.

The fashion showcase and informational event will include Chiapas-inspired clothing by International designer Xitlali Designs, a special dance performance, and looks from Mexican-American human rights activist and celebrated designer, María Gordillo.

About the non-profit recipient - ConcentrARTE, in association with organizations such as Pontis Mexico, not only help in the rebuilding of residents´ homes, but also educate through workshops designed to support resilience in the face of adversity through art. A proposed budget and plans for workshops and reconstruction efforts in Mexico is available at the GoFundMe page below. This product will benefit 40 families, or 303 residents of Chiapas.

About the museum - located in the heart of the Santa Fe Arts District, Museo de las Americas is the premier Latin American art museum in the Rocky Mountain region. Museo is dedicated to educating our community through collecting, preserving, and exhibiting the arts and cultures of Latinidad in the Americas. Uniting ancient and contemporary works to create an unique experience for vistors. Museo has served the Denver community for 27 years through award-winning exhibitions, arts education programming, and special events.

Xitlali, designer, notes, " Esencia Artesanal, a beneift for the victims of Chiapas earthquake of 2017, is born from the love that I feel for the artisanal handicrafts that come from that state in Mexico. Many of my pieces in Xitlali Designs are influenced by the work of the indigenous people in regions such as Chiapas. For that reason, this event was a natural manifestation to aid fellow man and support in maintaining their rich and beautiful culture.

In 2017, during my first trip to Chiapas, I had the pleasure of visiting various towns including San Cristobal de las Casas y Palenque. It inspired me to return to my “Escencia” or my true self and learn more of Mexico.

There I was blessed to find a wonderful organization called Proyecto ConcentrArte, a group in Mexico that focuses on reconstructing education and resilience through the arts for these towns in Mexico that have been devastated after a
catastrophe such as the 2017 earthquake.

This is how Esencia Artesanal came to be and for me it is also an honor to give respect by raising awareness for this art craft and the beautiful people that make it. For them this art is not just a
way to make a living but also an act of resilience against all adversities."
