Chez's Family

UPDATE: SGM (Ret) Jorge "Chez" Sanchez was hospitalized a few weeks ago when his heart suddenly worsened and it became apparent that he would need a heart transplant.  People immediately created this fundraiser as a means of support for him and his family.  Since then, a matching organ was found and the heart transplant surgery took place on 2/18/19! Jorge is now in the immediate recovery stage and things are going well.  That being said, we know this whole roller coaster of a process wouldn't have been possible without your support.  Jorge and his family want to sincerely thank you for your generosity and prayers throughout this challenging time.  We hope we can individually thank you as time goes on and he heals and becomes stronger.

Original description:
(Ret) Jorge "Chez" Sanchez has a bad heart and requires a transplant.  He is currently at the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at UNC Hospitals and on the waiting list for a new heart.  He is getting access to excellent care but being in this situation requires missed work, extensive travel, and overnight stays for both him and loved ones.  He and his family will need some financial  assistance to offset all of the additional expenses that come with a procedure as serious as this.
