Cherry Grove Beach Clean Up

$9,450 of $10,000 goal

Hello concerned residents of Cherry Grove…

With respect to the construction debris that builds up every winter on our beautiful Cherry Grove beach, a volunteer effort has been organized by Daniel Nardicio next Saturday and Sunday, May 11th and 12th from 12-3. Our mission is to organize the lumber and garbage in piles along the beach.  What we can bag and have regular trash collection pick up is helpful and necessary, however the bulk items that can’t be removed need addressing.  Any one with chainsaws' please come on down and help cut up some posts, stairs, etc...bring a crowbar, drill gun or just your bare hands... but be safe!

A group of us are working in conjunction with CGCAI to raise money to hire a contractor to truck off the construction debris littering our beach.

We are starting this GO FUND ME page with the sole purpose to pay for garbage removal as neither FINS nor the TOB will do this for us.
So here we go!  Please make a pledge and we ask all individuals and organizations in Cherry Grove to consider pledging. This beach clean up is an issue we have every spring and does not fall under the jurisdiction of a particular group but we do need to clean our beach for so many reasons.  All will benefit so please show some of that community spirit Cherry Grove is famous for and lets get this done.

Happy Spring Cleaning

Hello Cherry Grove Beach Clean Up Donors and Volunteers...we are close to Memorial Day which is my dream date to have the beach clean.
Tony's Barge has done 12 truck loads of large debris removal with a few more to go... What we need now are a few more donations to reach our goal of $10,000 with a matching donation from Dunes Fund. We are almost there having raised $9070. Every penny goes to this cause.
Very important...this coming weekend for the final volunteer effort. D- Worlds "Beach Spring Queening". Sunday May 25th, 12-3pm. ...please show up and bag small debris and help dig out what was buried from last weeks high winds. Bags will be put up on Lewis walk for collection. There is a lot but we can get this done for the summer to be beach debris free! We thank you all for your spirit and hard labor to reach our goal.
Thank You
Todd, Tim, Steve.

Volunteers still needed Mothers Day at 8:30 a.m.
Meet at Ivy and the Ocean.

Today's clean up was a mic drop'!! I didn't count but at least 40 to 50 people showed up to clean the beach. I looked from Sand Castle toward Ivy Walk and saw volunteers spanning the whole shoreline of Cherry Grove just getting the work done - and we did!
We had chainsaws cutting large lumber and telephone poles. People gathering and making piles for Tony's Barge to collect. Tommy Was there with his wife Barbara and two workers to load and remove the garbage. Three truck loads were carted today and many more to go. We are not done with carting off the debris but we are now prepared to have removed what is left. So many people I want to thank and I will. Before I do that...tomorrow at 8:30 Tony's Barge is coming back to cart more. WE need volunteers to help load the truck. 8:30 am at Ivy Walk and the Ocean.
Thank you Cherry Grove for your spirit, your donations and your hard labor! We are almost there.
Warmest
Todd, Tim, and Steve.
