Cherokee Flood Relief

Donation protected
Cherokees have always been a caring people that will come together and help one of their own when they're in trouble.
We have several of our Cherokee brothers and sisters with families who are in need.
The flood waters that rose in December 2015 have devastated many families all over the Cherokee Nation. The rising water took not only their homes, belongings,  and memories, but also their feeling of hope, comfort and security.
We want to do what we can together to make a difference for everyone.
One heartbreaking example I have for you is a young girl from the Chewey community who is afraid to go to school because she thinks her home will be gone when she returns.
Obviously, we cannot rebuild homes for all, but we aspire to give something to these hurting families that will bring a little hope, comfort and security back into their lives.
We hope to raise enough money to help the families in Chewey and then possibly spread out from there to help families all over the Cherokee Nation affected by the flooding.
We hope to raise enough money to be able to purchase gift cards so families can purchase personal items such as socks, underwear - things some may take for granted - many of them have nothing and are being forced to start from scratch with ready-made families to support and provide for.
Eventually, we hope to even purchase bigger items that people can use to rebuild their homes.
We are few, Sheila Bird and myself Jami Murphy along with others who want to do what they can to help. Cherokees helping Cherokees.
It starts with one community. Help us help others.
