Hey! My name's Olivia Chen and I'm a 15-year-old girl from Sydney Australia. I applied for and got a placement in a program called SciTech, run by a leading university called the Technion in Israel.
This program allows 60 students pre-Year 12 to work alongside the university students in a competitive environment as teams are formed and specific projects are assigned. The program brings together people of the same age from around the globe together through the allure of a common interest – science. I think that this trip would be an amazing once in a lifetime experience that could open pathways and possibilities for both me and the other students in Australia harbouring a love for science.
Don't forget the kid in you who was so amazed when you lit up the tea bag and it flew, or when you made your first Mentos and Coke volcano for show and tell! :)
This chance to travel overseas, meet new people and be immersed in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). All the donations will go towards paying for part of the airfare and the participation fee (Total: $10 000).
