Charlotte fighting for her life

Tax deductible
Though we at Animal Response Foundation are known for taking in some of the worst animal abuse victims and doing whatever it takes to get them care and on the road to a happily every after, it was hard to listen to the call that came in today regarding tiny 8 pound 15 week old Charlotte, a puppy who had been repeatedly beaten and abused.  In her picture here she looks like a happy adorable puppy but what you can't tell from this picture is that what appears to be a grin on her face is actually her lower jaw hanging loosely due to multiple facial fractures from blows to her little head keeping her from being able to close her mouth and the fullness in her cheeks is actually bruises and swelling and the reason she is laying curled up in some towels is because she finds it very difficult to stand much less walk due to a nonhealing 3-4 week old femoral (thigh bone) fracture and because she is weak from malnourishment.  What was just as shocking is that whenever you talk to her she finds the strength to wag her short little tail and gently paws at your hand with a front leg for some gentle rubs.  Her willingness to trust us is astonishing and her will to live is inspiring given how horrible her short life has been. We are asking for donations so that Charlotte can get the facial reconstruction and fracture repair surgeries she needs so that she gets at least the next 15 years to make up for the past 15 weeks.
