Legendary drummer Charlie Quintana who  has toured and/or recorded with Bob Dylan, Joan Osborne, John Doe, Cracker, Social Distortion, Cruzados, The PLugz and Agent Orange and many more, needs your help.

Charlie, now living in Mexico, is suffering from severe financial hardship due to spiralling medical bills and his current inability to work due to his COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) diagonsis. With the inability to work or cover the costs of his medical care he is facing eviction from his home.

As a musician who has brought pleasure to many in the Bob Dylan community as well as the music world in general, we're asking that you donate anything you can to help towards the primary goal of covering his overdue medical bills and expenses. This will go a long way to helping get him back on his feet. If he can begin to cover his medical expenses, and gain the treatment to stabilise his medical condition he will be able to get back his life balance and return to work.

Charlie Quintana Biography

Charlie performing with Bob Dylan on his legendary Letterman appearance in 1984.

Charlie Quintana (born 1962 in El Paso, Texas) is an American rock and punk drummer. He is best known as a drummer for the old school punk band Social Distortion from 2000 to 2009.

He was a member of 1970s punk band The Plugz (which became a popular roots band in the 1980s), Cruzados, The Havalinas, Izzy Stradlin & the Ju Ju Hounds, and has toured and/or recorded with Joan Osborne, John Doe, Cracker, Bob Dylan, Jimmy and the Mustangs, 47C and many others. He was briefly a member of Agent Orange, appearing on their 1996 album Virtually Indestructible. Quintana toured with Social Distortion member Mike Ness's solo band and recorded with him on his second solo offering Under the Influences (1999).

Quintana joined Social Distortion in 2000 as the replacement for Chuck Biscuits (of D.O.A. and Danzig), and following the death of the band's guitarist Dennis Danell. He was present on Social Distortion's critically acclaimed comeback Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll (2004), and their 2007 Greatest Hits compilation. In April 2009, Quintana left Social Distortion to explore other musical opportunities, and to spend more time with his family.[1][2] He was replaced by session Josh Freese, who appeared on the next Social Distortion album, Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes in 2011. Shortly after the album was released, David Hidalgo, Jr. became the band's new drummer.
