Charlie's New Hope

Tax deductible
*UPDATE AT BOTTOM*

Charlie is a 6 month old puppy that has been facing a battle for most of his short life. Multiple vets and tests led us to MSU where we found out he is missing his septum and the things that go around it to stop mucus and germs and warm air before it gets to the lungs. Charlie is also fighting the dog form of MRSA, a very strong and resistant infection in his nasal cavity.   He has been an incredible fighter with so much support behind him.  He has gone to every vet appointment without hesitation, sat through everything he needed to without resistance, let doctors check him out with blood draws and other uncomfotable procedures without even a yelp of bark. He still remains a sweet, kind dog that loves everyone, even the people that poke around! This last time we brought him to the emergency room, because he could not walk or stand or barely breath, we thought this was it. Then they put him into an oxygen tank for 15 hours.  He emerged a different dog.  He was acting like a puppy which he has not been able to do for 4 months.  Among the antibiotics that are helping the infection the oxygen worked wonders. While he does not need it every day, he will have to continue to receive oxygen when he starts to feel bad. Those visits add up fast and have led us to seek other options. New to the market for pet owners is a oxygen bag for animals.  It is like a pet carrier the animal can get into and rest while it receives pure oxygen.  However, the price is about $500. While this will be much cheaper than going to the vet when Charlie needs it, we still need help to make this happen.  Michigan Animal Crew helps hundreds of dogs with so many different issues, Charlie will not be the last one to use this. It will be an amazing tool to have in the future. If you can please help us help Charlie by donating, you will be helping relieve so much stress and pain from his young, tired body.  No matter how small, every little bit helps. We could not help these animals without you and are very grateful to each of you!

*UPDATE*
We did not know that we need an oxygen concentrator for this oxygen bag. While initially the cost is more than the traditional tank this will relieve us of vet visits for dogs to spend hours in the O2 tank, refilling of the portable tank, and the danger that comes with having that O2 tank in your home. Charlie was a different dog when he came home after his first visit to get oxygen. Before he was weak and had a harder time breathing. The mixture of mucus and blood would just clog his nose bad he had to breathe out of his mouth. That would lead to not getting enough oxygen to his brain. It would make him want to sleep all the time, not be very active, and really just not feel well at all. After laying in a spot for very long you could just see it draining out of his nose. All of this lead to that fateful day when we thought there was not another option, oxygen popped up, we tried it and he thrived. This will help give him the support her needs to beat this nasty infection! Please help, however much you can. Even a share and a prayer will help!!
