Hi friends!
I have recently been accepted to and will be attending a four week residency in February 2018 at the Vermont Studio Center. This residency will be a wonderful opportunity for me to create work in a setting where I will have the time to focus solely on the development of my work outside of my everyday environment at home in New York. Residencies are often pivotal moments in the careers of artists and I can only hope the same for myself as I embark on my first residency. It is immensely important to me that I am able to make the most of my time there.
Even though I was fortunate enough to receive a grant for the majority of the cost for the residency which covers studio space, housing and some meals, that still doesn't change the fact that I will be required to take a significant amount of time off from work. In order to be able to attend the residency and make the most of it I'm asking for some financial backing. The money I receive in this campaign will primarily be used to cover the costs for materials, travel to and from Vermont and the shipping costs for the materials and artwork. Any funds left over will be used to cover the financial loss while away from regular employment and will be used to pay for studio costs once I return from Vermont.
