San Diego is one of the largest counties in the nation and keeping it safe takes more than a full-time force. That's where reserve peace officers come in.
The San Diego Reserve Peace Officer Foundation (SDRPOF) is a nonprofit organization working in partnership with the San Diego Sheriff's Office to build a stronger, safer community through a robust reserve law enforcement program. Reserve officers are trained, sworn volunteers who serve alongside full-time deputies. The reserve officers respond to calls, support patrol, and fill critical gaps in coverage at no cost to taxpayers.
The problem: San Diego's reserve program is drastically understaffed. Agencies across the county struggle to recruit, train, and retain qualified reserve officers. Although the interest is high, the infrastructure and funding aren't.
Our mission: Train and deploy 500 reserve peace officers across San Diego County within 10 years, and build a permanent, multi-agency reserve law enforcement academy that serves our communities for generations.
Your donation helps us:
• Fund training and academy costs for reserve officer candidates
• Develop curriculum and resources for a regional reserve academy
• Support outreach and recruitment efforts across San Diego County
Every dollar goes directly toward putting trained, dedicated officers in our communities. Whether you give $10 or $1,000, you are investing in public safety for every neighborhood in San Diego County.
Help us build a safer future. Donate today.
