Outreach Vehicle Hit—Help Bring Hope to the Streets
Hi, my name is Melissa Moore and I am sharing this traumatizing accident and reaching out to humbly ask for help so we can continue to help others.
On Christmas Day, during the Atmospheric River storms, I was hit, spun into the center divider and thrown across four lanes of freeway traffic—and somehow survived with no physical injuries but our outreach car did not.
It’s now undrivable, with damage to the frame, both the front and back suspension damage and two flat tires. We only have liability insurance, and the other driver involved has no insurance at all, whish I ŵmeans the cost to replace the vehicle falls on us.
My journey through homelessness is what led me into my mission and founding my non profit. We spend our days helping others who are struggling, often giving whatever we have—including, at times, our last dollar—because we know what it feels like to be unseen and unsupported. Asking for help like this is incredibly difficult, but our vehicle is essential to keep showing up for people who need it.
Right now, I feel broken and overwhelmed, and I’m reaching out from the heart.
If you can donate anything at all, no matter how small, I would be deeply grateful. If you’re unable to give, I completely understand—sharing this or keeping me in your thoughts means just as much.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping me get back on my feet. God bless you.
