Help Clean Norris Lake: Remove Sunken Boats and Dock debris
Hey there! We’re working hard to remove some sunken boats from the shoreline at Norris Lake, and every donation makes a real difference in helping us keep our beautiful lake clean and healthy. If you could take a moment to click the link below to donate or share it with friends, it would mean so much to our efforts! Thank you for your support!
A Hickory Star area resident requested help to remove (3) abandoned boats sunken on the shoreline across from the marina. Their prior calls and conversations with state agencies regarding these boats was a dead end. Volunteers from the NLPA recovered a 22ft boat and towed it to an extraction point for removal. The NLP (Norris Lake Project) was an amazing partner in this effort providing the dumpster and logistical coordination.
There are (2) 30+ft house boats that have been sunken on these shorelines for many years. NLPA volunteers will be recovering these boats during the December 2024 low pool period. THESE ARE HUGE EFFORTS. FUNDING FOR THE NECESSARY SUPPLIES ARE NEEDED TO ALLOW THE NLPA VOLUNTEERS TO REMOVE THIS TRASH FROM OUR LAKE.
