Support APPA's Lifesaving Medical Missions
Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, you do unto me.” Thousands of people living in abject poverty in the Philippines have limited or no access to medical attention and lack life-saving medications or cannot afford needed surgeries. But you can help make an immediate impact by donating $5, $10, $20 or more dollars. No donation is too small as every dollar counts! Your tax-deductible, charitable contribution goes entirely toward purchasing medications and surgical supplies.
For over 50 years, the Association of Philippine Physicians in America (APPA) has provided annual medical missions to help the poorest of the poor. The APPA provides multiple services that include free medical consultations, free prescription medications, tooth extractions, eye exams and given free eyeglasses, minor and major surgeries such as circumcisions, removal of tumors, cleft palate repairs, hysterectomies and OBGYN care. Moreover, we incorporate medical and dental education during our missions to help foster long-term, self-care.
At the last medical-surgical mission in March 2024 held in Manila, in just two days, we provided medical attention to 1,249 patients by performing 202 major surgeries, 222 outpatient medical consultations, 318 dental procedures, and 507 vision screens. The total cost of the two-day mission was $12,000, which was directly spent towards purchasing medical and surgical supplies. All volunteer physicians and nurses from around the U.S. are responsible for covering their own transportation, food, and lodging expenses. Volunteers were willing to extend their stay but the length of the medical mission was only limited by funding - and that is where you can help. The APPA is a nonprofit 501C3 organization and heavily relies on the generosity of volunteers and donations. Please consider making a tax-deductible, charitable contribution to help those less fortunate.
