The Grampian Cricket Club is conducting a fundraiser with a goal of collecting £10,000 to help the victims of the Kerala Floods.
Kerala is battling its worst flood in 100 years, and the state government has estimated the loss due to the disaster to be about Rs 21,000 crore. About 3 lakh people are staying at relief camps. In its biggest rescue and relief operation till date, the NDRF has evacuated over 10,000 people in Kerala from heavy rains and floodwaters. In total over 20,000 stranded people have been rescued. The army has built 13 temporary bridges. The PM yesterday undertook an arial survey of flood-affected areas and announced Rs 500 crore as aid. But much more needs to be done. Help is desperately needed as displaced people need food, medicines and other necessary supplies
We at GCC would like to do our part and help with the disaster relief efforts. Funds that are going directly to the Chief ministers relief fund which will be used to supply clean water and other emergency services.
